Some random timing maps of yours have nothing to do... posted by Kenny on November 01, 2005 at 08:51 PM |

in typical kenny fashion, you are here simply to start drama without having the ability to address the technical discussion at hand. He's provided you with the dyno sheets, a/f printouts, and timing maps to identify where the agressive or unsafe parameters lie. If you look at the a/f charts on just about every dyno, you see safe a/f ratios. Your request for fuel maps serves to prove your lack of the grasp of what is going on. The a/f is safe, it doesn't matter what the fuel maps look like to have them there. The point is that they are SAFE. The inclusion of the timing maps (and i'm actually somewhat surprised that he included them - i've never seen a tuner do anything of the sort) should give you all the ammunition you need to pick apart his tuning. But the fact is that you can't. Those timing maps look totally within safe limits without anything on the ragged edge. Turns out - a/f curves, dyno sheets, and timing maps give you just about everything you need to evaluate the state of tune of an engine. Running lean? its in the a/f. Ridiculous timing? its in the timing map. Too much air? too much fuel? etc etc - its just about all in there. The only thing that I can think of wanting to see would be EGTs, but just about every car in that lineup has egt gagues - and from firsthand experience observing ash tune - he certainly was very aware of what the EGTs were showing. The point ash is making (and its a very good point) is that when he tunes the cars, the resulting tune is safe. You point to cars that had engines blow up, and he has shown you the tune that he gave them. You are simply unable to comment on the tune, and so you try to stir up as much drama as possible. Most of those engines that did blow up were caused by components wholly unrelated to the ECU. You, spee, Halo, and genic are really ruining this board and community. You have taken it upon yourselves to cause as much trouble as possible, while giving very little back to the community as a whole. The vast majority of members that I have spoken to regarding you have expressed similar sentiments, and this post serves to illustrate the point well. There was a time when this community was about a sense of cameraderie and a willingness to help others. You contribute to neither.
